Dancing with N.E.D. follows an unconventional band of six GYN surgeons determined to break the silence surrounding the deadly cancers they treat daily: loudly and with plenty of emotion—through rock-n-roll. Named after the four words every cancer patient craves hearing, “No Evidence of Disease,” N.E.D. is on a mission, using their original music and lyrics to make some noise. Dr. Will Winter, gynecologic oncologist at Compass Oncology in Portland, is one of the surgeons in the band. The documentary includes footage from Portland following Dr. Winter in his practice as well as during the band’s performance at the Aladdin in January 2011.  Visit www.nedtheband.com and follow them on Facebook!

Proceeds from these events will go to Marjiesfund, located in Lake Oswego, and incorporated in the State of Oregon as a nonprofit corporation with 501(c)3 status. This fund supports gynecological cancer research, early detection initiatives and community education and outreach. Marjiesfund supports N.E.D. as well as Spark Media.
